‘Deeply isolating’: Firsthand accounts of non-white teachers highlight roadblocks to workforce diversity

A new qualitative research report on the local teacher pipeline highlights a number of roadblocks to greater diversity in the workforce, starting before prospective educators graduate high school themselves and continuing well into their careers. The report, released this week by the consulting firm Education First, collects the first-hand experiences of non-white teachers, prospective teachers and parents in the Rochester area.
