Farash Foundation Brings Wexner Heritage Program to Rochester

Farash Foundation News Release

March 6th, 2019

The Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation is partnering with the acclaimed Wexner Heritage Program to encourage, inspire, and further develop the future leaders of Rochester’s Jewish community. This initiative is designed for a select group of volunteer leaders who were chosen by the Wexner Foundation following a competitive selection process using proven criteria, including the ability to shape and transmit a vision of Jewish life and communal responsibility.

With initiatives in major cities throughout the country, the Wexner Heritage Program is a two-year Jewish study experience with an additional focus on leadership. Each local seminar group consists of 20 outstanding and diverse Jewish volunteer leaders. Substantive Jewish learning will unite these individuals, and the relationships created among members are the heart of the program.

Rochester’s inaugural class of Wexner Heritage Program participants will convene in Spring 2019. Their work will include a series of intensive seminars and out-of-town institutes over the course of two years. At the institutes, they will also meet with cohorts from other communities.

“We are so pleased to bring this opportunity to Rochester,” said Holli Budd, Farash Foundation executive director. “This program now has more than 2,000 alumni across the country, and they include many of the top lay leaders of their respective Jewish organizations. We hope and expect our Rochester participants will add to the vibrancy of our community here in the years ahead.”
